The Olde Towne Civic League presents Doors, Porches, and Gardens

Olde Towne Portsmouth, Virginia draws visitors from all over the world. They come to experience first-hand over three centuries of architecture and history, where dwellings are maticulously restored and tales from long ago are passed down through the generations. The Doors Porches and Gardens of Olde Towne Portsmouth allows guests a glimpse beyond the facade of buildings and into the homes and gardens of people who make up the community. This event follows in a long line of neighborhood events including the Olde Towne Ghost Walk and Holiday Homes Tour. This year’s Doors, Porches and Gardens of Olde Towne Portsmouth will not disappoint.

About Doors Porches and Gardens
Take a self-guided walking tour of Olde Towne Portsmouth’s hidden gems, secret gardens, and adorned porches and doors. This historic neighborhood dates back to 1740 and is the largest collection of historic homes between Alexandria, VA and Charleston, SC. Musical entertainment, historical re-enactors, and plein air artists will be performing for your enjoyment.
Check-in at Court Street Baptist Church (447 Court Street) and pick-up your map and a schedule of events. The tour is self-guided and may be completed at your own pace. Free parking is available at the Middle Street Garage or any of the city lots.

During your visit, stroll through the Olde Towne Portsmouth Farmers Market at St. John’s Episcopal Church, be inspired at Anderson-Wright Rooms & Gardens, take a peek at Olde Towne Flower Co.’s flower farm, and tour the Hill House Museum and enjoy their gardens for an additional entrance fee. Homes for sale in Olde Towne will have open houses during this event. A list of open houses may be picked up on the day of the event.
Doors, Porches, and Gardens tickets are $10. Tickets are available to purchase online, from the following High Street retailers, and on the day of the event. The Coffee Shoppe, Little Shoppes on High, Studio CK Salon, and Anderson-Wright Rooms and Gardens will have tickets available on April 1st. Children 10 and younger are free. Rain date is Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the same times.
