Parking in Portsmouth is easy and inexpensive. Outside of Olde Towne, most businesses and visitor attractions have their own parking lots. Within Olde Towne, parking is available at meters, in lots, and in parking garages.

Public Parking Garages

We recommend using our Portsmouth Parking Garages when visiting so you don’t have to worry about feeding the meter. Garages are located at the following locations:

Middle Street Garage
441 Middle Street

Located on Middle Street between London and Queen St. This is the most convenient garage to the High Street Business Corridor and the Olde Towne Historic Neighborhood. $1 per hour, max $10 per day. Free at night and on weekends.

County Street Garage
200 County Street

Located on County Street between Crawford and Court Street. Park here for the Children’s Museum of Virginia or to access the High Street Business Corridor. $1 per hour, $6 per day flat rate if selected at time of purchase. Free nights and weekends. This garage is not available on the first Saturday of the month as it’s home to the Olde Towne Antiques and Flea Market.

Water Street Garage
500 Water Street

Located on Water Street just south of High Street and the High Street Boat Landing. If you’re catching the ferry to Norfolk or attending a waterfront event, this is the garage of choice. It’s at the foot of High Street so access to the High Street Business Corridor is easy and fast. $1 per hour, max $10 per day. Free nights and weekends.

Central Garage
801 Water Street

Located underneath City Hall and can be accessed from Water St. or from Colombia St. Park here for events at the Atlantic Union Bank Harbor Pavilion. For events, special rates apply. There are meters inside on the ground floor for $1 per hour. Free nights and weekends.

Harbor Court Garage
2 Harbor Court

Located off Crawford Parkway at the North Landing. Entrance is at the end of Harbor Court. This garage is ideal if you’re taking the ferry to Harbor Park for a Tides Game, if you’re attending a waterfront event, or taking a stroll through the Olde Towne Historic District. The garage serves as overflow for events at the Renaissance Hotel and Waterfront Conference Center. Visitor parking only on nights and weekends.
