The South Norfolk Jordan Bridge is a toll road connecting Portsmouth with Chesapeake across the southern branch of the Elizabeth River. With a dedicated bike and pedestrian lane, free of charge, the Jordan Bridge is a wonderful place to walk if you’re looking for elevation gain. Once on the Chesapeake side, the Elizabeth River Park makes for a 3 mile loop with a return trip across the bridge. Enjoy the fantastic views of the Elizabeth River and the working shipyards as you cross the 5,375ft long bridge and reach a height of 167 feet above the waterline. It’s a rush!
