New Exhibit at the Hill House Museum in Portsmouth, VA

Picture This:

a Photographic Journey of Portsmouth’s Past through photographic images of Downtown, Lincolnsville, Newtown, and Olde Towne.

New Exhibit

This photo exhibit will offer a unique glimpse into Portsmouth’s past. Visitors will sightsee through hundreds of photos capturing Portsmouth’s history, while looking at buildings no longer existing, and viewing the diverse past of this amazing city. Through the lens of photography, this Porstmouth, Virginia attraction will showcase the city’s past and present treasures by focusing on the areas of Olde Towne, Downtown, Newtown, and Lincolnsville. Photos will be exhibited throughout the museum and visitors can take photographic journey through Portsmouth’s past.

When: May 1st through June 28th |  Wednesdays & Saturdays from Noon-3 p.m.

Where: 221 North Street in Olde Towne Portsmouth, VA

Admission Costs: $5

What is the Hill House Museum?

Exterior of the Hill House Museum, a Portsmouth, Virginia attraction The Hill House Museum is a historic home in Portsmouth, Virginia that was built in circa 1825 and furnished entirely with family belongings from the 19th and 20th centuries, collected through generations, and left in their original places in since 1956. Now, thanks to the Hill sisters, the Portsmouth Historical Association, and everyone else involved, this beautiful home is now an exciting museum for all to see.

 

 

Future:

Artifacts found at the Hill House Museum in Portsmouth, VirginiaThe Portsmouth Historical Association is currently undertaking several phases of preservative renovation at Hill House. some of those are to restore its furniture, interior painting, art, documents, and other artifacts. New members and volunteers are always welcome to lead tours, organize events, and other help to ensure this historic treasure can be viewed by future generations.
