Enjoy a walking tour through Olde Towne of seven historic churches and a synagogue. Take in the beautiful architecture, stained glass and memorabilia of each of these historic houses of worship. Hear fascinating stories about the Underground Railroad, the yellow fever epidemic, Irish immigration, Jewish communities and more. Homes and History Walking Tour and the Hill House Museum
Location: Hill House Museum– 221 North St When: May 13th from 2pm – 3:15pm

Costumed interpreters bring the history of these homes and their occupants to life against the backdrop of the largest collection of standing period architecture between Alexandria and Charleston. Brew Wrestling & A Spring Throwdown Party

On Saturday, May 13, the Preserve opens early for the Early Bird Walk, a guided bird walk around Lake Ballard. The tour is offered before the park opens to the public. Plan ahead and reserve a kayak to explore the park from the water once your walk is complete. Hoffler Creek is flat and easy for all skill levels to maneuver. When you’re done at the park, swing by Norfolk County Feed and Seed, a Portsmouth institution since 1947, and pick up some flowers to plant in mom’s garden. She will remember the day all summer long.
