1. Olde Towne Scottish Walk
This annual event has been going on for 25+ years, and is modeled after Scotland’s Hogmanay Festival, where the walk is a day when townspeople honor their community and merchants, wishing good luck and prosperity in the coming year. Enjoy a stroll thought historic Olde Towne, listen to bagpipes and Scottish music, and chat with good folks. After the Walk, there will be a few proclamation’s and then before the crowd joins together to sing “Auld Lang Syne” written by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1788. There will also be a flag ceremony that honors George Washington’s raising of the first flag (the Grand Union) on 1 January 1776. After, there is an unofficial pub crawl, with lots of live performances.

2. Noon New Year’s Eve for the Kids
Celebrate the New Year with a noon glittery ball drop and juice toast at the Children’s Museum of Virginia. Face-painting, magic, and balloon-making will take place prior to the countdown, along with a photo-booth and refreshments. Visitors can also enjoy wagon rides. Families can enjoy these New Year’s festivities – all before bedtime!

3. Nooners Eve Party at MoMac Brewing
Enjoy a rocking’ celebration as you close out 2023 and welcome in a new one! Dance, laugh, and have a blast at MoMac Brewing Company’sNooner’s Eve event. It’s the perfect way to celebrate with family and friends. So, mark your calendars for Sun, Dec 31, 2023. The brewery is open from 10:00 AM-5 :00 PM, and the festivities will be bright and early, featuring live music from The Sam Floys band starting at 11:30, activities for the kids, food trucks, and a special toast at noon.
