The Kitchen Koop

Deon Foster Owner of Home and Garden Kitchen Koop

Deon Foster has owned and operated The Kitchen Koop for over 20 years

Just up the street from Anderson-Wright at 638 High Street, you will find The Kitchen Koop.  Deon Foster opened this local kitchen and gourmet shop back in 1998 and has been the sole proprietor ever since.  The shop serves professional chefs, home cooks, and foodies with top of the line food and kitchen products.

Deon is a trained Le Cordon Bleu Chef, having cooked all over the world.  If you want to know about planting herbs, medicinal or for cooking, Deon is the person to ask.  She has a beautiful herb garden located behind the shop where you will find a variety of herbs and fruit trees.  It’s not usually open to the public, but she might just let you have a peek.  So while not really a Portsmouth garden shop, this is the place to stop with any questions you might have about herbs.  Be sure to pick up some kitchenware while you’re there.
